Contactless solutions – accelerated due to COVID requirements and regulations – are here to stay. Room access and wristband payment options are just two examples of how RFID can improve guest experience while helping hoteliers track guest activity and drive incremental, on-property spend.
By partnering with Hapi, AARFID can ensure their devices and back-end systems are tied in with the hotel property management system, sharing data securely in both directions. We recently caught up with leadership at AARFID to understand how RFID technology is helping hoteliers prepare for a world of reduced contact points.
Q: How are you helping the hospitality industry innovate?
A: AARFID is an industry leader in RFID, automatic identification, data capture and vehicle access. In addition to manufacturing durable RFID credentials in a variety of form factors, we’ve also built a suite of software solutions that enhance guest experience and vastly increase security, all while reducing cost. Our goal is to continue supporting current and future clients in hospitality by providing seamless integration with their Access Control, Property Management and POS. Relying on partnerships like what we have with Hapi helps us “build a better bridge” to achieve these results together.
Q: What do you see as the biggest trend in hospitality tech in the post-COVID era?
A: It will be interesting to see what and when Post-COVID is. At AARFID, we feel very strongly that contactless solutions will be the biggest trend in hospitality tech. Even during this pandemic, we have seen a large uptick in demand for ViQ (Vehicle IQ), our UHF RFID parking application, and OQMate, which enables credential-based room charges. In both scenarios, operators and IT professionals are reducing contact points property wide between guests and employees. Striving to provide a contactless environment in conjunction with technology-driven cleaning methods looks to be the trend as we begin moving to post-COVID.
Q: How has Hapi helped AARFID and your customers?
A: One of the most considerable challenges we face is obtaining the data we need to deliver our clients well integrated solutions. Hapi provides a well-designed interface that helps us gather the information needed in a clean and simple format. Further, we know that any data retrieved or passed with Hapi is secure through multiple layers of encryption and level-1 certification. The open approach and relationships with some of the largest property management companies in the industry make Hapi an easy choice to integrate systems together.
