As digital check-in and contactless experiences grew in popularity over the past year, many different ways to tackle the challenge have emerged. One of the most popular ways with guests is a solution that doesn’t require them to download an app.

We recently caught up with leadership at GuestMate to understand what makes their contactless solution stand out:

Q: How are you helping the hospitality industry innovate?

A: Guestmate provides fully integrated contactless solutions to hotels and rentals to facilitate social distancing and to better connect and manage a mobile-first guest experience and staff operations in a single platform. 

Guests can skip the front desk using Check-in Online, which can work directly from the Web and does not require the guest to download an app. Guests can head directly to their room by using their mobile key to get access and also book any service in-stay, reducing non-essential interaction between staff and guests.

Our approach of AI-powered and real-time ID document authentication, combined with facial biometrics, offers a more secure way to verify identities, reducing ID fraud and chargebacks while providing safety and a superior guest experience.

Although our focus is online check-in / check-out solutions, we can go further with guest-engagement products via a personalized web app to enable room service reservations or any in-stay service, including contactless payments, digital messaging, stationery removal, etc.

Q: What do you see as the biggest trend in hospitality tech in the post-COVID era?

A: Digitization is now imperative and properties will have to meet the rising expectations from their guests to provide a full touchless experience. In that sense, the trends we see in the short term rely on check-in/check-out online tools together with mobile digital keys. Longer term, one of the biggest trends will be implementing AI-based applications.

A: Hapi will help us to accelerate the process to integrate our platform with other PMS, reducing time and cost on both sides.
