Sometimes technology can be a nice-to-have, but the social-distancing and contactless requirements introduced through the COVID pandemic have made technology a must-have for hoteliers. Throughout 2020, operators were busy rolling out new ways to check their guests in and communicate through digital platforms, and we're confident those innovations will be here to say.
Rolling out new technology is one thing, but to get the most out of it, operators need these new tools integrated into their current hotel tech stack. By building an integration with Hapi, Nuvola has an easy and low-cost solution for accessing the necessary data from leading hotel Property Management Systems. Together, the two companies help tech providers offer full end-to-end solutions. We recently caught up with company executives to understand how they are evolving to meet new customer demands.
1. How are you helping the hospitality industry innovate?
A core focus of Nuvola is to be at the forefront of innovation, whether it be through our own development or via 3rd party Open API integration. For instance, we've developed the StayClean initiative in an effort to provide free software to hoteliers during a time in which they need their tech partners' help most. StayClean provides hotels with two products, Digital Checklists & QR Checkpoints, both of which make it extremely easy to streamline new cleanliness & COVID SOPs, schedule frequent sanitization cleanings of high touch point surface areas, and much more. It's smartphone, tablet, and desktop friendly, takes 2-4 days to implement, and 100% free for 2020.
2. What do you see as the biggest trend in hospitality tech in the post-COVID era?
Contactless guest experiences are clearly the biggest trend post-COVID. A great example of innovating via 3rd party interfaces would be our new partnership with OpenKey and Canary Technologies. Through these strategic partnerships, we can provide hotels with Nuvola's white-label guest app, Angel, and integrate it with OpenKey's mobile key solution and Canary Technologies mobile check-in product. Providing a true, seamless contactless guest experience is a fast growing trend and something we wanted to provide a solution for.
3. How has Hapi helped Nuvola and your customers?
In short, Hapi allows Nuvola to remain nimble with 3rd party interfaces that otherwise would cost a lot of time and money to develop. Hotels benefit significantly too, as they don't have to go through the typical arduous communication channel of trying to convince their PMS or CRM to build yet another integration with yet another tech partner. For Nuvola, once we're integrated with Hapi, our theoretical integration roadmap is limitless. For hotels, they know they've got a proven, trusted integrated partner they can rely on to support their consistently growing IT cloud-based infrastructure.
